New Jersey has a third contestant on NBC's The Voice: Joe Vivona from West Caldwell.

During the second night of blind auditions, the West Caldwell resident's "soulful rock" rendition of John Mayer's "Dreaming With a Broken Heart" first got the attention of Adam Levine who already has Mike Schivano of Colonia and Bayville's John Gillman on his team for the upcoming battle round.

Blake Shelton also hit the button and told Vivona that he "electrified the room" with the presence of his voice.

"That wasn't a technically perfect performance but your did what music is supposed to do. It moved us," Shelton said. "It moved three of us to hit our buttons and you made everyone here stand up."

But Vivona, whose family owns Amusements of America, the world's largest traveling amusement park, went with Pharell Williams.

"I got a call last night from my 95-year-old grandfather. I'm gonna pick his favorite and I'm going to go with Pharrell,"

How far will New Jersey's contestants get on the show? Billboard's Michele Amibile said they're going to have to get past Alisan Porter, the "Curly Sue" star who is "already a front runner to win the whole thing." She said Schiano was unprepared for his impromptu duet with Levine "but I'll give him some slack as he probably didn't expect to do that."

Amibile thinks Gillman's rockabilly style could make him "this generation's version of Britan Setzer, but can that get on the radio? Maybe coach Adam Levine has a plan in mind. As for Vivona,  Amibile said he will have to get over his nervousness. "Hopefully, Williams can help Vivona get over his nerves and correct those pitch problems."
