Congratulations to Gia Nina's in Woodbury for winning the title of the best pizza in South Jersey. By nabbing 51% of the vote, Gia Nina's now moves into the final four, along with our Central Jersey winner, Brothers on 33 in Hamilton.

The third region of the state I visited was the Jersey Shore. Conveniently enough, the two top nominated pizzerias happened to be all of five minutes from each other. Pete & Elda's in Neptune vs. Vic's in Bradley Beach.

Not only were both of these establishments extremely close to each other, they have another thing in common too. They both specialize in thin-crust pizza. I tried the pepperoni and the sausage at Pete & Elda's. Both were equally incredible. What shocked me the most was their ability to pack so much taste into such a thin slice of pizza. I will have to go back to Pete & Elda's to try to complete their pizza challenge. If you can eat a whole large pie by yourself, you win a t-shirt. Challenge accepted!

My second stop, Vic's in Bradley Beach, felt very traditional. You could tell they have a very loyal clientele and they take great pride in their food. I can confidently say Vic's sausage and peppers recipe is among the best out there. Vic's has been in the same location in Bradley Beach for over 40 years, and according to their general manager Ed, the recipe that keeps people coming back has never changed.

You can vote in the poll below until midnight on Sunday, or on Twitter @NJ1015. The votes will be combined and tallied up on Monday morning, Sep. 19. Every vote counts!
