I’m Losing My K-Mart! (PHOTOS)

On a nice day...and we've had many lately...I really enjoy the fresh air and exercise that I get on a long walk!  And, its even better if I can pick up a few of the items that I need, along the way!

One year ago, I lost my grocery store, the PathMark.  Til March 2011, I could do all my grocery shopping without even getting in the car! Or, I could walk there and pick up that one ingredient that I didn't know that I was missing!  So convenient...and good cardio!

Now, suddenly, I'm losing my K-Mart! 

I've got to be honest, I'm not surprised.  I've been saying for the last 5 years or more, that I have no clue how this K-Mart could possibly remain open. The parking lot is always close to empty. The store is dirty.  That "other" big-name retailler, one town over, beats it on prices. Period. 

But, the K-Mart is in walking distance!  Its convenient. Its a 'going-for-a-walk' destination. And, I'm going to miss it! Its been here since I was in high school! Ironically, the S.S. Kresge Corporation started calling their stores "K-Mart" in March 1962.  It doesn't look like my local K-Mart is celebrating the chain's 50th Anniversary...

Also, ironically, I can walk to my bank--the MAC machine--for money. But, with the closures, I have to DRIVE to spend my money at the grocery store and department store! Oh...and, did I mention that I can WALK to the gas station?  But, that would be silly...

And, that reminds me...with all the forced driving that I will have to do, I had better fill-up!
