With only one day left in 2011, I think the time has come for all of us to sit down, look ourselves in the mirror and try to decide – am I a dog person or a cat person?

Dogs are usually happy to sit at your feet, waiting for a command, looking to you for a signal about what to do next.

Cats on the other hand, don't have that "pack" mentality, and frequently could care less about what you're doing- because they're seemingly too busy following their own agenda for the day.

Most dogs don't seem very interested in laser lights, but many cats become hysterical at the sight of one. They hunt it like a tiger stalks an antelope – and they will continue to go after it even when they've “cornered” the light over and over, but it somehow gets away.

But in many ways dogs and cats are similar.

They’re both smart – very smart. I think probably as smart as monkeys.

Both really do enjoy your company, even if cats don’t show it all the time, and if they’re used to getting attention, they’ll both “act out” if you’re not around.

And if you’re a good mommy or daddy, they both offer unconditional love in return, which is probably why I can’t decide whether I’m a dog or cat person. I love em both.
