The  exposed finger joint on the upper level just past the toll plaza punctured a tractor trailer's fuel tank causing it to spill fuel onto the lower level.

The truck has been removed and the fuel cleaned up but repairs are being made to the joint according to New Jersey Fast Traffic.

I-78 approaching the Holland Tunnel as well as the Lincoln Tunnel have picked up extra volume as alternate routes.

Heading out of New York, outbound traffic is backed up across the bridge as well. Additional volume from the Yankees game this afternoon will only add to the problem. Fans headed back to New Jersey should take I-87 north to the Tappan Zee Bridge and continue on I-287 to the Garden State Parkway.

The Express Lanes from I-80/I-95 are also closed.

New Jersey Transit reports 15-30 minute delays for buses going to and from the GWB terminal.

New Jersey Fast Traffic has updates every 15 minutes and instantly on the traffic page of NJ1015.com.
