Two people have been arrested in Sussex County for the alleged murder of a Lakewood man whose body was found in his home on Christmas Eve.

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato said that Jesus Roman, 24 and Carlos Lagunes, 23 were charged with the death of Miguel Rivera, whose body was discovered by police checking on the 45-year-old at the request of his family. The family had not heard from him in several days, officials said.

Rivera was found face down in a hallway and appeared to have suffered trauma to the head, officials said.

Lagunes was arrested at a Sussex pizza restaurant on Monday by New Jersey State Police, according to Coronato. Rodriguez was arrested later at his Sussex home. Each man was charged with murder, burglary and hindering.

They are being held on $1 million each.

Roman's mother Evelyn Rodriquez, 46, was arrested on Dec. 29 on a count of hindering and was held on $250,000 bail. Authorities didn't explain how she hindered the investigation in an announcement of the arrests.
