This is a creepy story. According to an attorney, the rental firm, Aaron’s, collected over 185,000 emails, some of which contained pictures of nude customers, including children, from rented laptops. A program installed on the laptops allowed employees at Aaron’s to observe and photograph customers in their homes without their knowledge. Of course, some of the photos included people having sex. A judge has ordered that the case against Aaron’s be reviewed for class action status. The company agreed to stop using the spying software in 2013.
