Democrat Prevails in 2nd District Recount
A Democrat has beaten an incumbent Republican following a recount of votes cast in south Jersey's 2nd District Assembly race.
Assemblyman John Amodeo
Vince Mazzeo holds a 38-vote lead over Assemblyman John Amodeo. Amodeo can contest the election or request a recount.
Amodeo told The Press of Atlantic City he'll study the numbers before making a final decision. Mazzeo says he's glad it's over.
The Atlantic County Clerk's Office must certify the results on Tuesday.
Democrats will maintain a 48-32 majority in the Assembly if Mazzeo takes office.
