LAKEWOOD (AP) — Ocean County authorities say an autopsy was not able to determine the cause of death for a badly decomposed body found in a home in Lakewood.

Prosecutor's spokesman Al Della Fave said that there are so far not suspicious circumstances surrounding 45-year-old Michael Matthews' death.

Fave says that the official cause of death will be determined through a toxicology report, which typically takes four to six weeks to complete.

Police were called by a property manager after a nearby business complained about an odor coming from the residence on Thursday. Police found Matthews, of Brick, inside a bedroom.

Police say squatters have been seen in the area. Della Fave says the person was observed at the house in the last two weeks.
