Forget the final score (well, actually don't — it was a great night the Mets needed). The best moment of Friday's Game 3 of the World Series may have been off the field — and all around it.

During the eighth inning of the Mets' 9-3 victory over the Royals, Billy Joel's "Piano Man" began blaring through Citi Field's speakers.

Mets fans have long memories — so they know Joel performed the National Anthem during Game 2 back in 1986, the last year the Mets won a Series. And he sang the Anthem again Friday night.

So Joel was still on hand to sing along with thousands and thousands of joyous, beaming fans.
