Gov. Chris Christie has avoided weighing in on foreign policy issues as he considers running for president, but he is speaking out on Cuba because of a Jersey connection.

Christie says President Obama's plan to normalize relations was wrong.

He wants Obama to demand the release of cop killer, Joanne Chesimard, before any more diplomatic ties are brokered.

Chesimard has had safe harbor in Cuba since she killed a state trooper back in 1973.

This represents a safe foreign policy stance for Christie, since it has direct ties to the Garden State.
