Rabner reported for jury duty in Newark on Tuesday.

He was among 66 other potential jurors called for a criminal case involving aggravated assault and unlawful firearm charges.

The justice first had to watch a video of himself that's shown to all jurors.

The Star-Ledger of Newark (http://bit.ly/1oOgwyd ) reports a judge asked Rabner what he did for a living. Rabner replied that he was an attorney and "chief justice of our Supreme Court."

The chief justice also said he would follow the judge's instructions and would "try to keep an open mind."

Rabner wasn't picked for the trial. The defense attorney turned him down.
