Cherry Hill Looking to Sell Liquor in Supermarkets
Would you like to be able to buy liquor in a supermarket in New Jersey? You may be able to soon in Cherry Hill as officials are considering changes to the ordinance requiring liquor to be sold in a “stand alone” store or in a strip center with it’s own entrance.
The measure was first introduced to council January 14. There would be restrictions imposed such as selling liquor from a designated part of the store with designated cash registers to buy it. But Bridget Palmer spokesman for Cherry Hill Mayor Chuck Kahn says “what the mayor is doing right now is repealing that stand alone provision so super markets can have liquor stores inside.”
