NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Skylar is a beautiful Russian Blue with soulful gold eyes at the Edison Municipal Animal Shelter. She was abandoned when her family moved and left her behind. Skylar was shy at first, but with some love and care from the staff and volunteers at the shelter, she's now much more confident. She's a sweet and charming cat that loves to play and nuzzle. Skylar is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and FIV/FeLV negative.

If you're interested in meeting Skylar or adopting her, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org or call us at 732-248-7278. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Maple is a year-old female Boxer and Pit Bull mix. She was found running in traffic near the water reservoir at Parkway and Parkside Avenues in Ewing and was taken to the Ewing Animal Shelter.

Maple is a sweet, well-behaved dog. She's extremely friendly and enjoys greeting people and getting affection from them. She is also very good with children. Maple can be energetic at times, but for the most part she is calm. She likes to take walks, ride in the car and give kisses. Her absolute favorite thing in the world is belly rubs! Maple loves water games and the hose, but her favorite game is to play ball.

Currently, Maple is being fostered by a family with five other rescue dogs, two cats and a parrot. She is doing very well with her foster family and gets along well with the other animals. She would do well in a house with another friendly dog, but is also able to entertain herself on her own. Maple knows several commands, is both crate and potty trained and learning to walk without pulling on a lead.

If you’re interested in learning more about Maple or to schedule a visit, email Maple's foster mother Frederique at frederique.adamjupillat@verizon.net. For additional information, email dogs@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Pebbles, a Pit Bull mix at the Edison Municipal Animal Shelter, is about two years old. She is very happy all the time and loves to be around people. In fact, she has so much affection in her heart that it pours out by her endless kisses. Her wiggly body and wagging tail make quite a statement. She has such a fantastic personality that you just want to be around her all the time. She walks very nicely on a leash and she even has fun walking alongside another dog. Pebbles is very attentive and takes treats very gently. Most of the time she has a very calm and content demeanor that makes you want to have a picnic and sip some homemade lemonade.

Pebbles is a volunteer favorite because she truly is one of those hidden treasures. We just keep discovering new and great things about her every day.

You can watch a video of Pebbles here.

If you're interested in meeting Pebbles or fostering/adopting her, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org or call 732-248-7278. You can see more adoptable dogs from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
