50,000 NJ customers still without power heading into Saturday night
About 50,000 New Jersey residents remained in the dark Saturday evening — heading into the night without power as the state's major utilities struggled to restore service under serious snow and heavy winds
To check on your power or report an outage:
- PSE&G customers, see PSE&G’s power map for outages and report downed trees, gas leaks, other emergencies or outages to 800-436-PSEG.
- JCP&L customers, see JCP&L’s map for outages. Call in issues to 888-LIGHTSS or report your outage online.
- Atlantic City Electric customers: See Atlantic City Electric’s map or call 800-833-7476 for any issues.
Late Saturday evening, Atlantic City Electric had 28,209 outages. More than half (18,571) were in Cape May County. Avalon Borough had 5,788 outages, North Wildwood, the site of some of the state's most serious flooding Saturday, had 4,187 and Stone Harbor Borough had 3,362.
Ocean City had 5,390 customers without service. Stafford Township had 2,562, Little Egg Harbor had 1,364 and Tuckerton Borough had 667 outages.
In Atlantic County, there were 2,493 outages.
Burlington County had 1,244 outages.
JCP&L was dealing with 19,538 outages. Ocean County accounted for 15,375, including almost 11,000 in Toms River. Island Heights (1,083) Lacey (966) and Ocean Gate Borought (737) had also been impacted heavily.
There were 1,770 outages in Monmouth County.
PSE&G reported just 748 outages, most of them in Burlington County.
Atlantic City Electric and JCP&L said many outages in South Jersey and along the coast may not be restored until Sunday because high winds and flooded areas are making it tough for repair crews. By law, bucket crews cannot work until gusts drop below 40 mph.
