WOODBRIDGE -- A jitney bus overturned on the northbound Garden State Parkway on Thursday morning, one of two crashes that caused big delays to end the morning commute.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Alejandro Goez said two right lanes were blocked by the crashes north of the Colonia service area. At least nine people were on board the bus, according to Goez, with no serious injuries.

Goez did not know what caused the small bus to overturn, as an investigation was just getting underway.

New Jersey Fast Traffic's Bob Williams said the two crashes caused multi-mile rubbernecking delays in both directions approaching the area.

It's the second overturned bus on a major New Jersey highway in two days. A school bus overturned on the eastbound side of Route 80 in Denville Wednesday, injuring a driver and a teenage girl on board.
