Just a few years ago, myself and a few friends started going out to dinner at a particular New Jersey landmark eatery the week in between Christmas and New Year's Day.

I am appreciating and enjoying it more each year. Of course I love being with my friends and it's always nice to share it with someone new each year too. It's one of those places frozen in time that you just have to experience it to fully understand it.

I don't know if they have a menu. They don't take reservations and the restaurant part has somewhat limited hours. Someone usually turns the lighted sign off around 8:45, which I assume means they are done serving new customers for the night.

If you've never been to the Belmont Tavern on Bloomfield Ave in Belleville, for dinner, you owe it to yourself to go. Just go!
