Police say a woman was killed when she was ejected from her vehicle after her SUV overturned along a New Jersey roadway.

New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn said the accident happened about 4:40 a.m. Sunday along Route 55 in Millville.

Flynn says the woman, who was not identified, was driving southbound when she drifted to the right side of the road, then across both traffic lanes and overturned the vehicle in the median.

He says she was ejected from the GMC sport-utility vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene about 5 a.m.

A preliminary investigation showed she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Police say there were no other passengers in the SUV and no one else was injured.
