"The numbers are Booker 52, Pallone 10, Holt, 8, and Sheila Oliver, the Assembly Speaker, she's not doing very well - 3 points," says the Director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, Mickey Carroll.

He points out many politicians have wondered why Pallone and Holt didn't get together, "and at least put a unified candidate against Booker, well it looks as if it wouldn't have made any difference, because even together, he beats them soundly."

The poll also shows if Booker sweeps to victory in the primary as expected, and faces off against republican Steve Lonegan in the October election, "Lonegan would get the bedrock Republican 30 percent, thereabouts, but not much more. The poll finds 52 percent of voters would support Booker, while Lonegan gets 30 percent."
