It hasn’t even been a full day and I already miss Mad Men.

I watched the last episode three times last night because I knew like so many times when things end, you’re never going to see these people again. But I’m glad that it ended well for most except for Betty who finds she’s dying from lung cancer.

Peggy finds love. Joan loses love and finds independence. Roger finds marriage yet again, Pete finds his family and takes them to Wichita so that he’ll never lose them again, and Don finally not only finds himself but comes to terms with who he is.

When we last see him meditating after his breakthrough hugging the guy at the therapt session, we notice a sly smile come across his face amidst his “om” chants. This is where he gets the idea for one of the greatest commercials off all time.

We never see him going to back to McCann Erickson, but we know from his “ggodbye” call to Peggy that they would have him back. She even says to him “Don’t you want to work on Coke?’ That commercial is Don Drapers happy ending. It reminds me of the Cheers finale when Sam Malone realizes that the bar itself was the girl he was chasing all along.

What did you think of the Mad Men finale?
