When you think of David Bowie you never think about Cher. Or more specifically about Cher being the one to introduce him to the American television audience, but that's exactly what happened on November 8, 1975.

Taking a look back in music history, this Tuesday it will be 41 years since David Bowie made his US television debut performing his hit 'Fame' on Cher's CBS-TV show. Here's the video of that performance.

Later in the show Cher would join Bowie on stage to perform a strange yet compelling six and a half minute medley duet, featuring music from no less than thirteen different songs. 'Young Americans,' 'Day Tripper,' and 'Ain't No Sunshine' were part of this tour de force medley, and I must say, as fleeting as some of the songs are in the medley they kind of pulled it off.

For a lot of people in America this was their introduction to David Bowie. It's a nice little slice of Bowie history that has been forgotten or rather overshadowed by Bowie's huge career.
