While a growing number of New Jersey groups and organizations are in favor of allowing self-serve gasoline, a handful of legislators have blocked bills to change the law, but at least one advocate still believes it should be an option for drivers.
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey lawmakers are reigniting a debate about self-service gas just in time for drivers to fuel up as they return from their Memorial Day weekends.
We talked at length yesterday about the pros and cons of allowing self-service stations in New Jersey. Following my show, State Senate President Steve Sweeney clashed with Dennis and Judi when Sweeney said he will reject any bill that lets people pump their own gas, shutting down the possibility of legal change completely.
As the debate begins again on whether New Jersey should allow self-serve gasoline, the question arises about the price difference between self-serve and full-serve in neighboring states.
