I imagine statistics are still hard to come by involving car accidents where use of a cell phone was the cause. Most drivers wouldn't admit fault to a cop especially now that the fines for illegal cell phone use while driving have doubled. So if an officer can't outright prove it, it's hard to know the real numbers.

Now that NJ has created stronger penalties for texting or being on the cell phone while driving, will it make you stop?
