Stabbing suspect in stand off with police in Long Branch
LONG BRANCH — A man in a standoff with police for several hours on Wednesday was a suspect in a double stabbing, officials said.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said that Denismar Andrabe, 27, barricaded himself in the basement of a home on Ludlow Street when police came to arrest him on attempted murder charges.
The standoff came to an end around 1 p.m., when Andrabe was taken from the home on a stretcher, according to the report, which said Andrabe was hidden inside a wall with food and water.
Gramiccioni said Andrabe stabbed two people in the neck with a knife early Saturday morning but was not apprehended.
Andrabe may be deported as ICE agents had a detainer on him for nine years, according to NJ.com.
