With summer vacation just around the corner a Woodbury  apartment complex has banned children from playing in the apartment complex.

Residents of Red Bank Run came home on Thursday to find yellow notices posted on their door from the apartment complex management company that announced a ban on ball playing or the use of skateboards, roller blades and scooter on the apartment's property reports  the Gloucester County Times.

No explanation was offered on the notice. Parents were encouraged to have their children play in community open spaces or enroll them in day camp.

Residents are upset and call the rule ridiculous. “My child is 6 years old, and I can’t let him go outside?" one parent told the Times. Others say the complex playground is too far away and is a hangout for teenagers.

According to the complex website, the apartment is managed by Altman Management Company. The site, ironically, touts that the complex became "pet friendly" and now welcomes "cats only." Their Facebook page also posts events and activities for children and families.
