Smoking Bans in Public Parks [POLL]
By Jeff Deminski
Princeton is the latest New Jersey town poised to pass an ordinance banning smoking in public parks, playgrounds, and pools. While many of these bans in outdoor places have been enacted around the Garden State, this would be the first in Mercer County.
It will be voted on March 19th. This will carry stiff penalties. First time offense for puffing by a playground could cost you $250. “This is the ability to save lives,” says Councilwoman Heather Howard in defense of the ordinance.
