According to this article, a 19-year-old Hopatcong man has been arrested for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a girl who was under 16.

Andrew Laureano is being charged with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Lt. Thomas Kmetz said the girl's father notified police his daughter had been in a sexual relationship with Laureano. Two detectives from the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office investigated, and interviewed Laureano and the girl, he said.

After Hopatcong police posted a notice about the arrest on Facebook, which is a normal practice for arrests,  the police were criticized not only for making the arrest but for publicizing it as well. Some also criticized the girl's father for reporting the relationship.

What do you think? Do you think it is ok for a 19-year-old to have a relationship with a 16-year old? Or do you think the arrest was justified?
