Fort Lee Police Det. Sgt. Kenneth Porrino tells The Record newspaper that Wilman Conde-Roa, a center back for the Major League Soccer team, and another man were "intoxicated and belligerent" when officers arrived around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

As one of the officers tried to confirm the identity of a woman at the apartment, Porrino said Conde-Roa "became loud" and began pushing the officer, who arrested him. Conde-Roa was released later Saturday morning on his own recognizance, and a phone number for him could not be located.

Conde-Roa has been sidelined most of this season with a groin injury.
