Police: PA Man Drove Drunk On Ocean City Boardwalk

Ocean City police say a drunk Pennsylvania man was trying to find a lost cellphone when he drove down the resort city's boardwalk and crashed on to the beach.

The Press of Atlantic City reports 21-year-old Christian Winzcuk of Philadelphia and a passenger, 46-year-old Hyeyeon Ju of Jenkintown, Pa., had been walking on the beach Tuesday night when they lost the phone.

Believing the car's headlights would help them see the phone, Winzcuk drove the car on to the boardwalk. But he lost control as he drove off and went through a railing, damaging about 25 feet of railing and board decking.

Both Winzcuk and Ju were treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Each was charged with hindering apprehension, while Winzcuk was also charged with drunken driving.
