If you take target practice, how do you feel about the targets that look like women that when you shoot them, they bleed?

A company called Zombie Industries has made a line of zombie dummies that when you shoot them, blood spurts out.

Seems harmless enough; if the dummies in question are men, of which one is pictured above.
But to see them as women…well, that has anti-gun advocates up in arms.

Anti-violence groups blasted the NRA for endorsing a shooting target that lets vengeful gun nuts open fire on a scantily clad “ex-girlfriend” mannequin and make the busty dummy “bleed.”

“This is outrageous and dangerous,” said Laura Cutilletta, a senior staff attorney at the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. “Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women in the United States.”

“This reprehensible product stokes the fire of relationship violence which already claims far too many of our mothers, daughters and sisters,” she said.

The company that sells the lifelike target — called “The Ex” — was a vendor at the National Rifle Association convention over the weekend in Houston, which drew more than 86,000 people.

Zombie Industries succumbed to criticism Tuesday, changing the name of the dummy to “Alexa.”
“The intention of the company was never to discriminate against women or promote violence against women,” said marketing director Roger Davis.

Or so he says. Never their intention to promote violence.

However, if you’re feeling particularly vengeful that your ex has taken you to the cleaners, or your significant other has somehow dogged you, here’s a chance to get even. Just aim at the zombie-like chesty woman, blast her, and watch her bleed.

I don’t feel it’s promoting violence anymore than if the dummy was a fake zombie man.

It’s when fantasy turns into reality that the problems mount.
