Gov. Chris Christie says state transportation crews will be dispatched to help New Jersey towns and county governments clear key roads blocked by downed trees following the weekend snowstorm.

Speaking at a news conference Monday, the governor says utility crews from as far away as Georgia will help restore power. But it will be at least until Thursday that lights are back on for most of the more than 360,000 customers.

Christie also urged trick-or-treaters in areas hard-hit by the storm to make sure to carry flashlights so they can spot any hazards. He is leaving it up to municipalities to decide whether to allow trick-or-treating to go on.

The governor says utility damage from the October snowstorm is worse than that caused by Hurricane Irene.
