HAMILTON — The last time a movie ticket cost just three bucks, Ronald Reagan was president and audiences were lining up to see "E.T.", "Blade Runner," and "Tron" for the very fist time.

This weekend, however, it'll be back to the future as Regal Entertainment Group celebrates the opening of its new theater in Mercer County with $3 movies and snacks.

While the official grand opening of Regal Independence Plaza 12 & RPX will be Feb. 16, the theater is holding preview events from Sunday to Tuesday with proceeds of the discounted movies going to benefit local charities: Ryan's Quest, Boys & Girls Club of Trenton-Mercer County and the Travis Manion Foundation.

The movies and showtimes are below.

The 12-screen theater at 2465 South Broad St. boasts digital projectors, RealD 3D and "luxurious King-Size Recliners."

A former theater in that location closed in 2010.
