8 a.m. MORRISTOWN - U.S. Sen. Cory Booker speaks at the 30th annual Interfaith Breakfast. Location:  Hyatt Morristown at Headquarters Plaza hotel, 3 Speedwell Ave. (Route 202), Morristown.

10 a.m. ROSEDALE - State Senate President Stephen Sweeney joins Roselle Mayor Jamel Curtis Holley in flag-raising ceremony. Location: Roselle Borough Hall, 210 Chestnut St., Roselle.

11 a.m. LINDEN - Sen. Sweeney joins Linden Mayor Derek Armstead and Assemblyman Jerry Green at commemoration ceremony. Location: Morning Star United Holy Church, 1009 Chandler Ave., Linden.

12:15 p.m.  PATERSON - Sen Sweeney joins Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie, Lt. Gov. 6 p.m. MOORESTOWN -  Pro football player Charles Tillman and his wife Jackie Tillman, speak during a fundraising event at a private home in Moorestown.

8 - 10 a.m. JERSEY CITY BREAKFAST PROGRAM-MLK DAY — The Rev. Herbert Daughtry, national presiding minister of The House of the Lord Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn, New York, serves as principal speaker during an event to introduce a free weekday children's breakfast program in Jersey City. Location: Remarkable Mossi Youth Council and Carrington Chocolate City community center, 453 Martin Luther King Drive, Jersey City.

9 a.m. - noon. JERSEY CARES-MLK DAY — The community service organization Jersey Cares holds its seventh annual "Jersey Cares Martin Luther King Day of Service" events. The schedule of events includes:

  • Volunteers perform maintenance work and repaint portions of Bogota Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5561, 241 West Shore Avenue, Bogota.
  • Volunteers repaint portions of East Side High School, 238 Van Buren St., Newark.

NOON. PATERSON VETERANS-MLK DAY — Members of historically black Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.'s Pi Xi Omega chapter serve a free lunch to veterans to mark Monday's observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Location: Lobby, Paterson Park Development LLC supportive housing complex, 453 Broadway/601 E. 18th St., Paterson.

2 p.m. NEWARK ADVOCATES-MLK DAY — The People's Organization For Progress holds "Martin Luther King March Against Police Brutality, Racism and Violence." Location: March begins at the Lincoln Monument, Market Street and Springfield Avenue, Newark.

2 - 5 p.m. MERCER COUNTY CC-MLK DAY — Brian Cody, assistant director of Mercer County Community College's "Upward Bound" program, and Craig Morris, assistant director of community education and training on the school's Trenton campus, host the college's annual free Martin Luther King Jr. Day program. Location: Kerney Hall at Mercer County Community College, 102 north Broad St. (Route 206), Trenton.

7 p.m. PRINCETON RELIGIOUS OFFICIALS-MLK DAY — The Rev. Lukata Mjumbe, evangelist and executive director of the Presbytery of New Brunswick's Urban Mission Cabinet and organizer of the United Mercer Interfaith Organization, leads the Princeton Clergy Association's annual free public "Interfaith Service." Location: St. Paul Parish church, 214 Nassau St. (Route 27), Princeton.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - POMONA - 11th annual Day of Service, Stockton College in Pomona, Carnegie Center in Atlantic City, Kramer Hall in Hammonton, Manahawkin instructional site and Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage.

10 a.m. ATLANTIC CITY - March begins at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School on Marmora Avenue in Atlantic City, ends at Civil Rights Garden, Pacific and Martin Luther King Blvd.

NOON - ATLANTIC CITY -  Speech by the Rev. Collins A. Days Sr., St. James AME Church, New York and Arctic avenues, Atlantic City.
