KPOT Date Night: Eric Scott Enjoyed a Unique, Flavorful Dinner

Sandra and I recently visited the KPOT Korean BBQ and Hot Pot restaurant in East Brunswick and had the most amazing time.

As a foodie, I am always up for a new culinary adventure. We had never tried Korean BBQ or Hot Pot before and weren't quite sure what to expect.

I was met by David, the restaurant manager. He introduced us to Roger, our waiter, and the adventure began.

One of the first things you should know is it's all-you-can-eat and the menu can be intimidating. Fortunately, Roger helped walk us through the many delectable options and got us started with a delicious mango-rita while we waited for them to bring our selections.

You will feel like an Iron Chef as you grill tender beef, pork, chicken and seafood right at your table. You're free to season it and pair it with lettuce or rice.

As the hot pot of broth bubbles away, you’ll feast on thin slices of meat and veggies cooked right in a rich and tasty broth. You have your choice among several broths, ranging from mild to quite spicy, and a variety of noodles. I noticed they have several gluten-free options, too.

This was such a terrific experience and so much more than a meal. What a great way to gather with friends and family!

What is Korean BBQ and Hot Pot

KPOT started with four friends who blended their favorite cuisines and flavors while sharing meals, according to KPOT's website. The idea behind hot pot and Korean BBQ is similar — you cook small portions of meat and veggies right at the table — but KPOT modernized the experiences with a full bar and a nightlife-like atmosphere.

You don't need to be an accomplished cook to enjoy KPOT; the experience is easily adaptive to food adventurers and social eaters. You'll find the conversation flows easily over this feast of good, flavorful food — and it's hard to resist ordering anything but a large feast.
