A judge will allow the case of a New Jersey lawyer being sued by an elite private school to go forward. The Delbarton School sued attorney Gregory Gianforcaro last year, claiming he violated a confidentiality agreement.

It says Gianforcaro went public at a June 2012 news conference with confidential details of a 1998 settlement of a lawsuit.

It was filed by a man who claims he was sexually abused as a student by a monk who taught at the school.

Judge Stephen C. Hansbury said he believes Gianforcaro was an agent to the agreement and should have enforced it.

Delbarton School is a private, all-male Roman Catholic school in Morristown for grades 7 to 12.
