What else is there to say about the North Carolina State commit who was named a McDonald’s All-American and also selected to the USA Women’s Nike Hoops Summit Team.  Brooks had an incredible career finishing with 1,913 points, she played her first two years at Trenton Catholic Academy before that school closed.  An ankle injury limited her down the stretch but in the SJ Non-Public A final against Paul VI she capped a 33-point performance by hitting the game-winner at the buzzer.  In her four-year career SJV went 100-6.

Coach of the Year - Dawn Karpell, St. John Vianney

Only an upset loss in the Non-Public final prevented the Lady Lancers from a perfect season in Karpell’s 17th at the helm of what has become a state and national power.  This season’s resume included a win over Long Island Lutheran who was then ranked #1 in the nation and Vianney’s 18th Shore Conference Tournament title.  Karpell, a former standout player at SJV when she was Dawn Werner, was a finalist for the 2022 Naismith National Coach of the Year.
