Indulge in the crispy goodness of these homemade sweet potato fries, paired with a creamy and flavorful garlic yogurt dip. This recipe offers a healthier alternative to traditional french fries, packed with nutrients and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients: 

Sweet Potato Fries

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika
  • 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Garlic Yogurt Dip

  • 1 cup of whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons of water
  • 2 cloves of garlic, zested
  • 3 teaspoons of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Add 2-3 tablespoons of fresh herbs for extra flavor i.e parsley, dill

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Thoroughly wash all produce prior to chopping.
  3. Cut your fries: Evenly-sized matchsticks, about 1/4-inch wide.
  4. Soak in cold water: Soak the fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes. Then rinse, drain and pat dry.
  5. Toss with oil: Transfer fries to a dry bowl or ziplock bag, and toss evenly with oil.
  6. Toss with seasonings.
  7. Transfer to a parchment-covered baking sheet: And spread out the fries in a nice even layer.
  8. Bake until crispy: Being sure to remove the pan and flip the fries halfway through.
  9. As fries are cooking prepare the dip: place all ingredients in a small bowl and mix until well combined
  10. Let cool: Remove the baking sheet from the oven, season the fries generously with salt, and rest for 3-5 more minutes.
