The 36-month program is scheduled to launch in September 2012 at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

Under the pilot program, Stockton can enroll veterans who served in the armed forces on or after September 11, 2001.

The program will lead to a baccalaureate degree and completion of the requirements necessary to apply for a certificate of eligibility, which will authorize the veteran to seek employment as a teacher in grades K through 8, and in certain secondary education fields.

"It is part of an ongoing effort by this Administration to recognize our veterans," explained Guadagno at the New Jersey National Guard Armory in Atlantic City.
