Republican members of the New Jersey General Assembly gathered at the State House today to bash the Democrat-controlled legislature for failing to address the important issues. They pointed out that today, the full Assembly will vote on a bill to ask the federal government to support the state’s efforts to eliminate the stink bug population, but won’t be voting on bills to reform the state’s civil service regulations or a bill to end huge payouts for public workers’ unused sick and vacation time.

GOP Assemblywoman Alison McHose (pictured)  thinks the Democrats have other things on their minds as well. She says for the past two years Republicans and Democrats have been working well together and she doesn’t want to see the bi-partisanship come to an abrupt end. The Assemblywoman explains, “We need not to allow the Democrats to make this about getting President Obama re-elected. I don’t want to see a sea change in their message.”

Democrats say they’re focused on the people of New Jersey.
