Former NJ ‘Real Housewives’ Star Danielle Staub Files for Chapter 7

Danielle Staub, former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" cast member is seeking Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection.

In court papers filed in federal court in Newark, Danielle Staub estimates her assets to be between $500,001 and $1 million. That's the same estimate as her liabilities.

The Record newspaper reports creditors listed include the Internal Revenue Service, the state of New Jersey and nine law firms.

The newspaper says neither Danielle Staub's attorney nor her manager returned a call seeking comment.

Danielle Staub left Bravo's reality series in 2010.
