In a mail piece sent to members of the TV Academy, Griffin, who shares Christie's physique, is shown wearing a shirt, pants and red tie and holding orange construction cones under the caption, "Vote for us, or it's time for some traffic problems in Brentwood." The statement pokes fun at New Jersey's ongoing Bridgegate scandal and former Christie aide Bridget Kelly's email saying, “Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.”

Brentwood refers to the posh community that many of Hollywood's A-list call home.

According to Deadline Hollywood, it's not the first aggressive attempt at Emmy votes. In 2010, Griffin was shown dressed as the girl from "Precious" wearing butterfly wings and the caption "Vote For Us Or You’re Racist.”
