A 14-year-old student at the Patrick School in Elizabeth died Wednesday night after collapsing while playing basketball in a school gymnasium, New Jersey Advance Media reports.

The teen's name has not been released.

The report quotes police saying the student told his coach he was feeling light-headed around 8 p.m. before walking toward the bleachers and collapsing. He was rushed to Trinitas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:01 p.m., the report said.

Patrick School principal Chris Chavannes said the teen did not appear ill and had been playing basketball with other students for about 30 to 45 minutes before collapsing, the report said.

Police reportedly said there was no indication of foul play, and an autopsy was being performed Thursday. The incident occurred at the Elizabeth School, which allows the Patrick School to use its gym.

The death comes just under a month after Warren Hills High School Quarterback died after taking several blows during a football game against Summit. Murray had suffered a lacerated spleen, an autopsy later found. His death prompted calls for support from throughout the state, with several teams sporting his No. 18 via decals. Jon Bon Jovi even dedicated a song to the teen while performing overseas.

In Murray's case, a teammate told New Jersey 101.5 he'd been holding his side earlier in the game, a possible sign of distress, though the teammate didn't think it was unusual at the time. Several hundred people attended his funeral.
