Prosecutors say an elderly man has been found shot to death inside his Pemberton home.

Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi says 79-year-old Valpa Rosa Sr. was found by Pemberton Township police who responded to his home in the Browns Mills section around 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Bernardi said officers were called to the home, but he declined to provide further details.

Bernardi says Rosa died from gunshot wounds to the neck and head, though it's still not clear when or why the shooting occurred. He said a gun found inside the home is believed to be the one that was used to kill Rosa, but the investigation is ongoing.

No arrests have been made.
