Suspensions have been recommended for eight southern New Jersey police officers who face disciplinary charges stemming from a bowling alley brawl last year.

Two off-duty Pennsauken officers were allegedly involved in the brawl, but left the scene before other township police officers arrived. Six other Pennsauken officers then allegedly failed to inform supervisors of the two off-duty officers' roles in the fight.

The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill says the suspensions are recommended in a report from the township's hearing officer that upholds some 40 disciplinary charges filed against the officers. None of them have been charged criminally.

It's not known if any of the officers have started serving the suspensions or if they are appealing the hearing officer's findings.
