Attorney General Michael Delaney says a police robot was placed in the house around 2 a.m. Friday and detected the bodies of suspect Cullen Mutrie and an unidentified woman. He says both died of gunshot wounds.

Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed Thursday evening when he and other officers entered the house during a drug raid. Two officers from other communities were shot in the chest and were in intensive care early Friday. Two others were treated and released.

The small, New Hampshire town of Greenland is reeling from a shooting that left its police chief dead and four other officers from other departments injured.

Attorney General Michael Delaney says 48-year-old Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was just days away from his retirement. He confirms Maloney was killed as authorities were conducting a drug investigation Thursday night in the town of about 3,500.

The chairman of the town's Board of Selectman describes the shooting as "an unbelievable situation."

Jacqueline DeFreze, who lives down the road from the house where the shooting happened, says she's devastated by reports the chief had been shot. She'd planned to attend a surprise party for his retirement.

Maloney had 26 years of experience in law enforcement, the last 12 as chief of the Greenland department.
