Bon Jovi officially postponed their concert at Connecticut's Mohegan Sun on Saturday night but played a free concert for those who made the trip anyway.

The band postponed the show because of the nor'easter late Saturday afternoon until October 25 but played a free concert for fans who were already at the casino for the kickoff of the "Because We Can" tour.

"I wanted to confirm that they did in fact perform a special, free concert for hotel guests and fans that had made the trek in advance to see the show," Cathy Soper told WVIT TV.   The boys from Jersey performed their full concert for the 2,000 people who attended the show, she said.

Connecticut was blasted by the nor'easter with up to 3 feet of snow in some areas and Governor Dannl Malloy (D) banned private vehicles from the roads while crews cleared the roads.

While Malloy lifted the ban at 4:00p.m. on Satruday afternoon, many ticketholder  from New Jersey who were going to make the 3-hour trip to the show were concerned about being fined for illegal travel or making the drive for nothing.

"Bon Jovi recognizes how much preparation it takes for fans to attend a concert and they wanted to honor that the best way that they know how," wrote the band on their website.

Bon Jovi plays at the Verizon  Center in Washington D.C. tonight. They'll play at Met Life Stadium in the Meadowlands on July 24 and July 25.
