Beastie Boys MCA Dies

MCA , a founding member of The Beastie Boys has died.

Adam Yauch, one of the band's co-founders, passed at the age of 47 according to TMZ. He was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his salivary gland in 2009. Last year in an update on the band's website Yauch announced he was not cancer-free, but "staying optimistic."

Yauch is survived by his wife and daughter.
