The New York City medical examiner's office has ruled that the deaths of seven people in a horrific car crash were accidental.

Autopsies performed Monday found all seven people died from blunt force trauma. The SUV skittered across three lanes of traffic, hit a concrete curb and went airborne over a 4-foot-tall
fence on Sunday. The vehicle flipped midair and landed about six stories below.

 

 

 

Police say the crash happened after the speeding driver clipped the highway divider and damaged a tire.
Police said Monday that Maria Gonzalez was driving at 68 mph when she bumped the concrete barrier between the two directions of the highway and the left front tire went off kilter.

The posted speed limit on that stretch of the Bronx River Parkway is 50 mph.
