By now it's old news that the Old Fort Monmouth property in Eatontown (and Oceanport) is being developed.

I wrote last week about "Freedom Pointe" the residential/retail/mixed use/parks-fuh-dayyyyz spot that's being considered "the crown Jewel of NJ" by its developers.

But who knew that there were lots of other buildings and parcels still up for grabs in this prime (and soon-to-be even more valuable) location?

It seems that these parcels are being put up for sale in dribs and drabs, and as soon as they go up, interested parties spring up and clamor for them.

It looks like 13 1/2 acres on Murphy Drive in Oceanport are soon going to be sold to the town to build a new municipal complex. The Eatontown Department of Public works could be making its move to the old Fort, too.

Architects are working with the city to design a new DPW In a refurbished building at the former fort that once served as a personnel office. Other small buildings would also be demolished for the project.

In December, Triumphant Life Church Assembly of God, an Asbury Park group entered into a contract to purchase the Main Post Chapel parcel in Oceanport and will shortly begin renovations.

One of Fort Monmouth's most beautiful and historic properties, Russel Hall, will have a new owner, as well. TetherView Properties an information-technology company with locations in West Long Branch, Edison and Staten Island, will move its headquarters to the former army base, after closing a $1.313 million deal to purchase the building that once served as the U.S. Army headquarters there.

The Count Basie Theatre group is eyeing a large parcel at the Fort as well. According to reports, their plan is to build a civic/arts center which would be open to the community.
And, On the Oceanport side of Fort Monmouth, seven new buildings have recently hit the market, too. If you're interested, you'd better jump on it!

These pieces of prime real estate that used to be Fort Monmouth are so hot, you gotta get 'em while they last.
