PSA: Don’t shut down a highway to propose to your significant other (Video)

A few thoughts.

1. I understand the pressure nowadays to give your marriage-worthy boyfriend or girlfriend that "take their breath away" proposal. But this is not impressive in any way. Really? A highway on a rainy day? This poor girl probably spent her whole life wondering what this moment would look like. I'm sure she wasn't expecting it to be on top of the Eiffel Tower at midnight on New Years Eve, but simply getting down on one knee at the restaurant where they had their first date would have sufficed.

2. What an unfair amount of pressure to put on her. She's standing at the forefront of a Houston traffic jam with angry commuters honking their horns in her face. I have no doubt she feared being hit by one of these impatient drivers. And if she said no? Her boyfriend probably would have left her there to fend for herself.

3. Was it really necessary to have three people filming this? I guess if you're going to make a scene like this, why not pull out all the stops?
